Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer
Coming to a ballpark near you in 2010!
The PA Breast Cancer Coalition,
together with the PA Association of Community Bankers, will be holding charity home run derbies in all 11 of the state's minor league baseball stadiums,
raising both funds and awareness for this important cause.
What is a Home Run Derby?
- The Home Run Derby consists of teams of four batters, as well as individual batters, competing to hit home runs in professional baseball parks.
- Each batter gets 15 swings.
- Batters are scored on a scale of 10 points for a fair ball hit in the infield to 100 points for a home run.
- The team and individual batter at each stadium with the highest point score are awarded prizes.
- Teams are given a batting time slot when their registration form and payment is submitted to the PBCC.
- In exchange for the per-team registration fee of $500, or the per-individual fee of $125, all event participants receive a batter's t-shirt, program, souvenir team photo, and a great time!
- All money raised through the Home Run Derby stays in Pennsylvania and allows the PBCC to continue supporting and serving breast cancer survivors and their families in this state.
