Home Run Derby Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Which best suits you?

Outfield Shagger (10 needed per shift)

Outfield Shaggers enjoy being out in the sun,  want the chance to experience being on a minor league baseball field, don't mind being on their feet, but don't need to be able to catch or throw a ball!  This might be a fun family activity to do with your kids.

  •   Collect balls in the outfield for a 3 to 4-hour shift (with breaks when needed)

  •   Collect balls hit into the outfield and infield once they have landed and rolled to a stop

  •  Carry or toss balls to a bucket by second base

  • Signal when a ball hits the outfield wall

Registration Worker (1-2 needed)

  • Check in batters as they arrive at the stadium

  • Instruct batters on filling out various forms

  • Ensure all batters sign waivers

    Team Leader (1-2 needed)

Good Team Leaders are friendly, assertive, not shy or soft-spoken, able to corral excited participants and keep things moving.

  • Stand on the sidelines by the dugout from approximately 8am to 1 or 2pm

  • Check in teams as they arrive on the field
